 Text Box: Major Activities The District Employment Exchange is the institution that provides the services enlisted in the Employment Manual. Besides registration of applicants, submissions, placements etc. the Employment Exchange is making arrangements for the recruitment to the Armed forces like Indian Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, CRPF etc. However bulk of the submissions are made to various departments of the administration as per their requisitions. District Employment Exchange is the only employment office in Lakshadweep with single branch at Andrott under the title (Office of the Junior Employment Officer). In other islands Information Assistants of the Information Department is designated as Employment Assistants. But no major works are entrusted to them. Registration, Booking of vacancies, submission and placement is done by the District Employment Exchange. Type Writing Coaching class, incentive aid to local ST candidates to attend interview /test at main land / island is conducted by the Village/Dweep Panchayat, and the District Panchayat attend the pre-recruitment training.
